OUR WEDDINGS: LAURA & SAM
Sam and Laura chose to have a very small, intimate wedding reception at Farleigh House with only their immediate family in attendance. Our house and gardens gave them the perfect setting for their celebration, and with the wedding held only a few days before Christmas, it made everything even more magical, especially against the backdrop of our 12ft Christmas tree.
On arrival, the pianist, Jane Glasson started playing the Grand piano. Sam and Laura walked hand-in-hand down the staircase into the Grand Hall where they were greeted to a rapturous applause from their guests.
The reception started, the champange flowed and an array of canapes were served in the Library Bar against the warmth of the roaring fire. The atmosphere was very relaxed and laid-back as everyone mingled and enjoyed a crisp, magical winter’s day.
As the sun began to set, the newlyweds and their guests took their seats at the Captain's table in the Grand Hall which had been beautifully decorated with white roses and eucalyptus leaves, mixed with an abundance of different sized white candles.
After a lovely speech from Laura's Father, they enjoyed a wonderful three-course fine-dining experience created by the catering company, Full Flavour Events.
Shortly after dinner, Sam and Laura cut their wedding cake and went outside with their guests for the all important sparklers photograph, everyone came back inside to warm up and were then presented with cake and platters of cheese and biscuits.
As the music started and the children opened up the dance floor, the guests danced and continued to eat, drink and mingle the night away.
